At Netherfield Pre-school we believe children learn and develop best when they feel safe, secure and inspired. We provide interesting, carefully planned activities that respond to each child’s learning style, interests and stage of development. Our approach balances guided learning with child-led play so every child can progress at their own pace. We listen to and respect children’s voices — their ideas and achievements guide what we do. You’ll see their creativity and contributions celebrated across the setting, reflected in displays, activities and everyday routines. Our team works closely with families to make sure every child feels known, supported and ready to thrive.
About Us
Welcome to Netherfield Pre-school. We are a charity-run setting overseen by a dedicated committee of Trustees and led by an experienced early years teacher, supported by a team of highly qualified practitioners. Our friendly staff are passionate about giving every child a confident, happy start to their learning journey.
We are proudly based in the village of Netherfield on the edge of the historic town of Battle, in the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our beautiful rural setting gives children plenty of opportunities to explore the outdoors and enjoy the local landscape.
Our purpose-built building is all on one level for easy access and includes a private garden and play area where children can learn through play, investigate nature and build confidence. The environment has been designed to be welcoming, safe and stimulating for children aged 2–5.
